On November 8th, 2020, Vietranstimex successfully completed the manual pulling of the 500kV-467MVA transformer with a body weighing up to 286.8 tons to install at Son La Hydropower Plant (Son La) and handed-over at the correct position as required by the Client.

The 500kV - 467MVA transformer has a body weight more than 286.8 tons with the dimensions of 11.448mx 4.27m x 4.2m. Its machine oil and the attached accessories are also weighted more than 131.5 tons. This transformer was received by Vietranstimex since August 15th and the arrival at the installation site was expected on October 30th, 2020. However, due to the fact that hydropower reservoirs simultaneously have discharged causing flood water levels in rivers have risen, so that the load-out of the transformer on barge at terminals is impossible, causing the transportation has been delayed for a period of time. However, overcoming many difficulties, on November 8th, Vietranstimex has successfully completed transporting and handing over to the plant as required by the Client.
