Following the success of wind power transportation projects, from August 20th, 2021 until now, Vietranstimex has received and transported wind turbine blades for Phong Lieu Wind Power project (Huong Tan commune or Huong Linh commune, Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri province).
According to the signed contract, Vietranstimex’s scope of work is transportation of a number of wind turbine blades by trailer from Hon La port to the interchange yard for assembling on the rotor blade adapter, transportation of all 36 blades by the rotor blade adapter from the interchange yard to the project's pillars site.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Quang Tri province has to implement social distance according to the Government's Directive 16, the construction faced to difficulties in imported equipment, lack of foreign experts in technical coordination, leading to many projects are placed on risk of behind the FIT deadline. Regarding transportation, the mountainous terrain with many slopes, winding passes, many big obstacles such as bridges, power lines, ... plus weather conditions at the time of the project are not as favorable as expected; in addition, the travel restriction according to Directive 16 also causes more difficulties, Vietranstimex had to mobilize many specialized equipment suitable for transportation in mountainous areas, speeding up transport permit application for blade adapters, carrying out second dose vaccination for the transport team, complying 5K, etc. to complete the project on time.
Phong Lieu Wind Power Plant Project was approved for investment in September 2019. On December 31, 2019, the project was officially started, in the area of communes: Huong Linh, Tan Thanh, Huong Tan, Huong Phung in Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province. The designed exploitation area for Phong Lieu Wind Power Plant Project is 1,3482 ha. The project has 12 turbines with a design capacity of 48 MW, and service output of 150.26 million kWh.
